Influencer marketing for dealerships and automotive

Hardly any category gets compared as intensively as a vehicle purchase. The post does not decide the sale, it decides who gets the test drive.

Why the test drive is the actual goal

A vehicle is compared over weeks, discussed with the family and rarely decided alone. The realistic next step after a post is therefore not the purchase but the appointment. For Turkish-speaking customers there is a particularity the market underestimates: a considerable share of the decision runs on trust in a specific person at the dealership rather than on the brand. Salespeople get recommended, dealerships do not. Creator formats can reflect exactly that, because a person becomes visible. At the same time automotive is one of the most tightly regulated advertising categories there is, because new vehicles require mandatory consumption and emissions information. A post ignoring that is open to challenge regardless of how good it is.

Formats that work for dealerships

01

The salesperson as the face

A short portrait of the person who actually advises noticeably lowers the barrier to a first appointment. In this sector the person gets recommended rather than the business, and that is exactly what can be made visible.

02

Vehicle presentation from an everyday angle

Boot with a pram, rear bench with three seats, consumption on a real route. These details decide more often than engine specifications and are regularly left out of manufacturer videos.

03

Showing used cars honestly

Naming scratches, mileage and history openly creates more trust than flattering footage. Showing the condition in advance brings viewers who arrive for the inspection with realistic expectations.

04

Making the workshop visible

A large share of margin sits in service, yet it is rarely advertised. Posts about inspections, tyre changes or warranty handling fill appointments outside the sales peaks.

05

Explaining financing clearly

What separates leasing from financing and what to watch for in a final instalment resolves one of the biggest uncertainties. Such posts reach people early and position the dealership as a point of contact.

How a campaign runs

  1. 01

    Clarify the goal

Audience, region and the next measurable step.

  2. 02

    Select creators

Proposals with real figures instead of gut feeling.

  3. 03

    Deliver

Briefing, production, approval and publication with a clear plan of responsibility.

  4. 04

    Evaluate

Reach, engagement and enquiries in the report. Learnings go into the next campaign.

Which creator profile fits dealerships

  • Local profiles in the catchment area

Vehicles are almost always bought within reach, because service and warranty depend on it. Reach outside the area produces enquiries with no chance of closing.

  • Car and everyday-life profiles

A car profile brings enthusiasts, a family profile brings buyers. For volume models the second group is usually more valuable, even though the first looks more impressive.

  • Employees with their own reach

A salesperson already showing vehicles is the obvious solution. Usage and what happens to the material after they leave belong in a written agreement beforehand.

What we measure in automotive

Test drives booked

The test drive is the first solid step and is attributed to its source. Enquiries alone say little in this sector, because many prospects contact several dealerships in parallel.

Attendance rate for appointments

How many booked appointments actually happen says more about how well the message fits than the total number of enquiries does.

Service and workshop enquiries

These are recorded separately, because they carry a different margin and a different capacity logic than vehicle sales.

Share from the catchment area

We report which part of the contacts actually live within reach. Anything else is worthless for a place-bound dealership.

Mandatory information in vehicle advertising

Automotive is one of the few categories where advertising can be unlawful without certain technical details. Those duties fall on the advertiser rather than the creator, which is why we take them from the vehicle data before production.

Consumption and emissions figures
Advertising for new passenger cars has to supply fuel consumption and emissions information. Where a specific new vehicle is promoted, those values belong in the post or on a directly linked page.
Final price and additional costs
A price named has to be the final price for consumers. Delivery, registration and accessories are either explicitly included or explicitly not, otherwise a gap appears at signing.
Separating warranty and statutory rights
Statutory rights apply by law, a warranty is voluntary and carries its own conditions. Mixing both terms in a video creates expectations that cannot be met when something goes wrong.

Note: general orientation, not legal advice. Vehicle, consumption and price information remains the dealership's responsibility and is supplied before production starts.

When we advise against it

Stock turns over too quickly

A post about a single used car is usually outdated before it has any effect. Posts about the dealership, the service and vehicle classes work better than posts about individual cars.

There is no capacity for test drives

Where appointments are only possible weeks out, the campaign loses exactly the prospects it won. Scheduling is then the first step.

Common questions about automotive campaigns

Do consumption figures really belong in every video?

As soon as a specific new model is advertised, the prescribed information has to be supplied. For general posts about the dealership or the service it does not apply. We therefore separate model advertising from business presentation cleanly in the briefing.

Is this worth it for a single-brand dealership?

Usually yes, but not through model advertising the manufacturer already runs nationally. A dealership's advantage lies in people, service and reachability, and that is exactly what the manufacturer cannot advertise.

What about vehicle handovers as a format?

They work well but need the customer's consent to publication. We settle that in writing before the appointment, because a spontaneous yes at handover is difficult to evidence later.

The legal notes are general orientation and do not replace legal advice. Formats and metrics describe how we work; they are not performance promises or evidence of previous OzyCore campaigns. Status: August 2026.
