Influencer marketing for finance and insurance

In many families financial topics are not discussed but inherited. Whoever explains them clearly earns trust long before the first contract.

Explaining is the product

A considerable share of Turkish-speaking households in Germany are less well covered on pensions, income protection or liability than their income would suggest. The reason is rarely disinterest; it is a mixture of language barriers, bad experiences with sales and a sense of being taken advantage of anyway. This is exactly where a creator works differently from any ad: they can explain in the mother tongue what a term means without selling something in the same breath. The price is a narrow legal frame. The line between general education and licensed intermediation is thin, and crossing it is not a marketing problem but a regulatory one. Our work here therefore starts with the question of who is actually speaking in the post, and in what role.

Formats that work in finance

01

Explaining terms in plain language

What an excess is, why liability cover exists or what happens when a claim is made. These posts reach people long before a contract and get forwarded inside the family, because they close a genuine knowledge gap.

02

Anonymised claim stories

A real, unidentifiable case shows the benefit more concretely than any product description. What matters is that it does not become a promise for the individual case, because every contract has its own terms.

03

Making the advice process transparent

How an appointment runs, which documents are needed and whether it costs anything lowers the barrier considerably. A large share of the audience avoids appointments mainly out of fear of sales pressure.

04

Comparison without naming products

Comparing criteria rather than providers is legally less critical and reads as more credible. It positions the adviser as someone who knows the questions rather than someone selling a contract.

05

Topics tied to life events

Building a house, a birth, going self-employed or buying a vehicle create concrete need. Posts about those moments reach people who are already preparing a decision.

How a campaign runs

  1. 01

    Clarify the goal

Audience, region and the next measurable step.

  2. 02

    Select creators

Proposals with real figures instead of gut feeling.

  3. 03

    Deliver

Briefing, production, approval and publication with a clear plan of responsibility.

  4. 04

    Evaluate

Reach, engagement and enquiries in the report. Learnings go into the next campaign.

Which creator profile fits here

  • Explainer formats with an adult audience

Viewer age and life situation are decisive. A very young audience produces views with no relevance to a contract, however impressive the reach.

  • Creators without return promises

Profiles working with quick money or guaranteed gains are a risk for serious providers. We exclude them regardless of how good their numbers look.

  • Advisers with their own reach

Often the adviser is the best creator, because they know the questions and the role is unambiguous. It also removes the difficult line between education and intermediation.

What we measure here

Consultations booked

We count the appointment, not the contract. What happens afterwards depends on need and suitability and does not belong in a marketing report.

Attendance rate

How many booked appointments actually take place says more about the quality of the message than the number of enquiries does.

Topics of the enquiries

We record which topic people get in touch about. Where it consistently differs from the offer, the cause is the post rather than the audience.

Returning contacts

Financial decisions take time. Contacts that come back months later belong in the report, otherwise every campaign in this sector looks weaker than it was.

The line towards licensed intermediation

Insurance and investment intermediation require a licence in Germany. A creator giving general education stays outside that; the moment they recommend a specific product it can look different. We settle this question of role before every script.

Education rather than recommendation
General explanations are unproblematic. A specific recommendation for a particular product to a particular person can count as intermediation and is not permitted without a licence.
No promises about payout or return
Words such as safe, guaranteed or always pays out are particularly risky in finance, because every contract has its own conditions and exclusions. We keep such phrasing out of every script.
Advertising recognisable and complete
Posts have to be recognisable as advertising and must not withhold material conditions. A short note about exclusions or waiting periods belongs in the post, not only in the consultation.

Note: general orientation, not legal or investment advice. Licence status and permitted statements are checked by the provider with its own legal adviser before production starts.

When we advise against it

A single product is meant to be promoted

Product advertising through third parties is the most delicate route in this field and additionally reads as sales. Educating about the topic reaches more people and is considerably less critical legally.

The licence status is unclear

As long as it is not settled who speaks in which role, we start no production. Clarifying that afterwards is considerably more expensive than answering it beforehand.

Common questions about finance campaigns

May a creator talk about our products?

About topics yes, about specific products only within tight limits. As soon as a recommendation emerges, the post approaches licensed intermediation. We therefore work with education and let the contract happen in the consultation.

Why no return promises?

Because they almost never hold in the individual case and are judged particularly strictly in finance. A promise a customer later litigates costs more than any campaign brings in.

Is the adviser better as their own creator?

Frequently yes. The role is unambiguous, the expertise is there and the line towards intermediation disappears because they are licensed anyway. It takes longer to build but is then permanently available.

The legal notes are general orientation and do not replace legal advice. Formats and metrics describe how we work; they are not performance promises or evidence of previous OzyCore campaigns. Status: August 2026.
