Influencer marketing for fitness and sport

Selling a trial session is easy. Keeping a member who still turns up after eight weeks is what decides whether a gym works financially.

Signing up is not the goal

Gyms make their money from duration, not from new sign-ups. A campaign that brings many contracts and leaves empty machines two months later has achieved nothing financially and has additionally damaged the reputation. For Turkish-speaking audiences there is a particularity the market barely serves: a considerable share of women look for training options with clear separation or dedicated times, and many gyms never communicate that offer even though it exists. Making it visible reaches a group with almost no competition. At the same time this sector is full of promises about weight loss and supplements that are not legally defensible and that slip into posts very easily.

Formats that work in sport

01

A first visit from a beginner's view

A video showing the changing room, the sign-in and the first twenty minutes removes exactly the inhibition that keeps people away. It reaches the group that has never set foot in a gym, and that is the largest untapped market.

02

Making offers for women visible

Separate areas, dedicated times or female trainers are the decisive information for part of the audience. It is rarely communicated even though it exists in many gyms and generates enquiries immediately.

03

Introducing the trainers

Supervision is the real differentiator between gyms with similar equipment. A portrait of the person who actually does the induction works better than any footage of the machines.

04

Technique rather than result imagery

Short explanations of correct execution have genuine value and get saved. They keep working for months and create no promise that cannot be delivered later.

05

Using seasonal peaks realistically

New year and spring generate demand anyway. It makes more sense to focus on supervision and getting started during that window rather than on discount, because discount members tend to cancel first.

How a campaign runs

  1. 01

    Clarify the goal

Audience, region and the next measurable step.

  2. 02

    Select creators

Proposals with real figures instead of gut feeling.

  3. 03

    Deliver

Briefing, production, approval and publication with a clear plan of responsibility.

  4. 04

    Evaluate

Reach, engagement and enquiries in the report. Learnings go into the next campaign.

Which creator profile fits sport

  • Local profiles in the catchment area

A gym lives on people who travel there regularly. Reach beyond a few kilometres produces views but no members who keep showing up.

  • Female creators for the women's offer

Where separate areas or dedicated times are to be promoted, a creator from that audience is close to essential. Without her the message stays a claim made by the gym.

  • Profiles without transformation promises

Anyone working with fast result imagery attracts members with false expectations. That group cancels fastest and leaves the worst reviews afterwards.

What we measure in sport

Contracts signed by source

Trial sessions are an intermediate step, not a result. What gets counted is the signed contract, so it stays visible which collaboration actually brought members.

Attendance after eight weeks

The decisive figure in this sector. Someone still training after two months usually stays considerably longer and does not end in a cancellation with a poor review.

Share of new female members

Where an offer for women is promoted, that has to show in the numbers. If the share stays unchanged, the message did not reach the audience.

Cancellations in the first months

A rise directly after a campaign shows that the post promised something other than what the gym delivers. That figure belongs in every report.

Contracts, prices and supplement claims

In this sector most complaints arise about contract terms and about claims of effect. Both are settled before production, because both are very easily worded wrongly in a short video.

Naming term and cancellation
Where a membership fee is advertised, the minimum term, renewal and notice period belong with it. A post showing only the monthly price withholds exactly the part that gets disputed later.
No medical claims for supplements
Food supplements must not be advertised as preventing, treating or curing illness, and health claims are only permitted in authorised form. These sentences arise casually in training videos and are therefore excluded in the briefing.
No weight loss promises
Statements about a specific weight loss in a specific timeframe are misleading, because the outcome is individual. What is permitted is describing supervision, the training plan and the process.

Note: general orientation, not legal advice. Contract terms and product claims remain the provider's responsibility and are supplied before production starts.

When we advise against it

The gym is overcrowded at peak times

More members at full capacity means queues at the machines and cancellations among existing members. A campaign for off-peak hours or for classes with spare capacity makes more sense.

The campaign is meant to run on discount

Discount promotions bring contracts that get cancelled unusually early. For the member base that is more expensive than a smaller campaign without a price cut.

Common questions about fitness campaigns

Why not simply measure sign-ups?

Because a sign-up is not yet revenue. What counts is who is still training after eight weeks. A campaign with many contracts and a high early cancellation rate costs more than it brings in and additionally damages the reviews.

May we advertise with before and after images?

For training without a medical procedure they are possible in principle but must not mislead. No specific result in a specific timeframe, no flattering shooting conditions and no unevidenced link to a supplement.

Is a dedicated offer for women worth it?

In many catchment areas yes, because competition there is low and demand persists. The condition is that the offer genuinely exists and runs reliably, otherwise the campaign creates exactly the wrong expectations.

The formats and metrics above describe how we work. They are not performance promises or evidence of previous OzyCore campaigns. Audience fit is checked against current platform insights before any selection. Status: August 2026.
