Whitelisting and Spark Ads

A good creator post reaches its audience organically once. As an ad from the same profile it reaches exactly the people you select, for weeks.

What whitelisting actually changes

With whitelisting a creator permits their posts to be distributed as ads through their own profile. The difference sounds technical but it is the entire point: the ad carries the name and the face of a person the audience follows, not the sender name of a company. For Turkish-speaking audiences that weighs heavily, because brand senders are read with noticeable distance in this segment. At the same time you keep control: audience, budget, run time and reporting all sit in your ad account. This combination is exactly why we prefer to offer this variant wherever paid advertising is running anyway. The precondition, however, is that ads are already live and someone is looking after them. Without working distribution the permission is an extra agreement with no effect that still had to be negotiated and paid for. In practice this variant rarely fails on the technical side and almost always on a permission requested too late.

What this format makes possible in the ad account

01

A familiar sender instead of a brand logo

The ad appears under the profile the audience already knows. That changes the first second decisively, which is where most ads get swiped away.

02

Audiences beyond the follower base

Organically a post mainly reaches existing followers. As an ad you reach people by location, interest and language, regardless of who follows the profile.

03

Run time instead of a one-day peak

An organic post lives for two days. The same material as an ad runs for as long as it works and can be paused or scaled at any moment.

04

Clean reporting in your own account

Cost, clicks and conversions sit in your account rather than in a screenshot from someone else's profile. That ends the usual argument about how reliable creator numbers are.

05

Testing several creators against each other

At equal budget and equal audience it becomes visible which face actually works. That insight is worth more for the next campaign than the individual result.

How a campaign runs

  1. 01

    Clarify the goal

Audience, region and the next measurable step.

  2. 02

    Select creators

Proposals with real figures instead of gut feeling.

  3. 03

    Deliver

Briefing, production, approval and publication with a clear plan of responsibility.

  4. 04

    Evaluate

Reach, engagement and enquiries in the report. Learnings go into the next campaign.

Which creators qualify for this

  • Profiles with a proper account setup

The permission requires a professional or business account and a willingness to be linked inside the ad account. Private accounts are technically excluded.

  • Creators who accept sustained distribution

A post running as an ad for weeks changes how the creator's profile looks to their own audience. Anyone uncomfortable with that is the wrong partner for this format.

  • Profiles without competitor conflicts

If the same profile is simultaneously promoting a competing offer, that devalues the ad. We settle this question before permission is granted and record it in writing.

What we measure here

Cost per result in comparison

The creator ad runs against your best existing creative. Only that comparison shows whether the additional fee for the permission pays for itself.

Durability before fatigue

We watch at which frequency the effect starts to drop. That determines when new material is needed and prevents unnecessary production.

Effect by audience

Results are looked at separately by region, age and language. One piece of creative can work very well in one city and not at all in another.

Return flow to the profile

We check whether the ad also brings the creator followers and comments. That belongs in the report, because it changes the negotiation for the next permission.

Permission, rights and recognisability

As soon as a post is distributed as paid media it is unambiguously advertising, and responsibility is shared between creator and advertiser. We settle these three points in writing before the first permission is granted.

Written permission with an end date
Permission to use a profile for ads is granted for a limited period and can be withdrawn at any time. Without a fixed end date it stays unclear from when a running ad is unauthorised.
Recognisability despite a personal sender
Even where the ad runs under the creator's name, the advertising character has to remain recognisable. The platform label alone does not in every case replace a clear statement inside the post.
Limiting account access
Permission is granted through the intended authorisation feature, never through shared login credentials. Shared passwords are a data protection and liability problem and we refuse to work that way.

Note: general orientation, not legal advice. We record the scope and duration of each permission in writing per creator.

When we advise against it

There is no ad account running yet

Without working distribution, audiences and measurement a permission achieves nothing. In that case we build the advertising side first and obtain the permission afterwards.

The creator is only meant to post once

For a single publication the extra effort for permission, linking and contract is not justified. A normal collaboration is then the simpler route, and the permission can still be added later if the post performs above average.

Common questions about whitelisting

Does the audience see that it is an ad?

Yes. The platform marks paid distribution, and the content-level disclosure remains mandatory on top. The advantage is not in hiding advertising, it is that the sender remains a person the audience knows.

Do you need the creator's login details for this?

No, and we do not work that way. The link is made through the platform's intended authorisation feature. Shared passwords would be a data protection problem and would count against both sides in a dispute.

What does the permission cost on top?

It is a separate line item next to production and organic publication, because it covers a longer period and greater visibility. We show it separately in the quote so the comparison with other creative stays honest.
