Influencer marketing for recruiting and employer branding

The channel where your preferred candidates spend two hours a day is rarely a job board. That is what makes creators interesting in recruiting, and also what makes them delicate.

Why hiring behaves differently here

Businesses short of skilled staff barely reach Turkish-speaking candidates through classic listings any more. Part of this group is not actively searching but would move if a credible offer came past. That is the real strength of the channel: it reaches people who are not looking. The price is that recruitment advertising follows different rules than product advertising. A job advertisement has to be free of discrimination, and that holds even when it appears as a vertical video. On top of that, this audience checks harder than for any consumer product, because a wrong decision costs them months of their life. Advertising exaggeration is spotted faster in this sector than anywhere else.

Formats that produce applications

01

A working day from the employee's view

A shift filmed from the perspective of the person actually working it answers more questions than any listing. It matters that the uncomfortable parts appear too, otherwise the first week turns into disappointment.

02

An employee as your own creator

Often the strongest voice is already inside the business. An employee with small reach and a real role is more credible than an external profile and stays available for months.

03

Answers to the hard questions

Shift model, commute, onboarding, progression and the working language are the questions that actually decide. Answering them openly loses part of the audience and wins the right part.

04

Explainers for career changers

Many candidates misjudge themselves and therefore never apply. A post showing which prior knowledge is genuinely required opens up a candidate pool that listings never reach.

05

A direct application route without friction

A link leading to a short form beats any portal. Asking for a cover letter after a video loses the majority of interested people on the way there.

How a campaign runs

  1. 01

    Clarify the goal

Audience, region and the next measurable step.

  2. 02

    Select creators

Proposals with real figures instead of gut feeling.

  3. 03

    Deliver

Briefing, production, approval and publication with a clear plan of responsibility.

  4. 04

    Evaluate

Reach, engagement and enquiries in the report. Learnings go into the next campaign.

Which creator profile fits recruiting

  • Profiles with a working-age audience

What counts is the share of viewers between the start of training and their mid thirties inside the employer's catchment area. We check that share in the current insights before any selection.

  • Trades, care and everyday-life profiles

Creators who already talk about work need no topic switch. Their audience expects the content and does not read it as a foreign object in the feed.

  • Your own staff as the face

Where an employee is willing to appear, that is almost always the cheapest and most effective option. It needs a written agreement about usage and about what happens to the material after they leave.

What we measure in recruiting

Complete applications

We count applications that meet the minimum requirements. Views and clicks are intermediate steps and are not reported as a result.

Share from a reasonable commuting radius

An application from someone who cannot realistically commute is not a success. We therefore evaluate by distance and not only by count.

Interview attendance rate

How many applicants actually turn up for the appointment says more about the fit of the post than any reach figure.

Retention past probation

The most honest number, but only available later. It shows whether the post painted a realistic picture or merely triggered the application.

What applies to recruitment advertising

As soon as a post advertises a specific role it is a job advertisement, whatever the format. That brings the requirements for a non-discriminatory advertisement with it, including the audience settings of any paid distribution.

Non-discriminatory advertising
A role must not be advertised by gender, age, origin, religion, disability or sexual identity. This also covers offhand lines in a video, for example looking for a young team or a native speaker without an objective reason.
Justifying a language requirement objectively
Turkish language skills may be required where the work genuinely calls for them, for example in direct customer contact. Without that link a requirement quickly turns into a criterion of origin.
Audience selection in paid distribution
Where the post runs as an ad, the audience setting is part of the advertisement. Restricting by age or gender can become a problem here even when the text itself is neutral.

Note: general orientation under the German General Equal Treatment Act, not legal advice. Advertisement text remains the employer's responsibility; we review script and audience settings in the briefing for obvious conflicts.

When we advise against it

The conditions will not survive visibility

A campaign makes the business checkable. If pay, shift model or tone are clearly below what the post shows, it produces applications with a high drop-out rate and a worse reputation than before.

There is no fast response process

Someone applying through a video expects an answer in days, not weeks. Without a named owner inside the business, even the best campaign evaporates in the inbox.

Common questions about recruiting campaigns

Is this not more expensive than a job listing?

Per publication usually yes, per actual hire often not. The comparison only becomes meaningful once both channels are measured over the same period with the same criteria. That is exactly why we set a baseline before the start.

Can we target Turkish-speaking candidates specifically?

You can communicate in Turkish and appear where that audience is. What you may not do is tie a role to an origin. A language requirement is permitted where the work genuinely calls for it.

What if the employee in the video resigns?

That is why we agree in writing beforehand how long the material may be used and what happens when they leave. Without that agreement, businesses are left holding material they can no longer use but have already paid for.
